Florida Rep. Kat Cammack refuted the White House’s claim that President Joe Biden has done more than “anybody else” to secure the southern border. Instead, she said, Biden is the “trafficker in chief.”
The Gainesville Republican made the comments during a recent appearance on Fox News. Cammack contrasted the White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre’s claim against her own experience of nine trips to the Mexican border.
“That’s a lie, straight out. That’s a lie,” Cammack said in response to a clip of Jean-Pierre’s remarks.

“If he were doing everything that he could to secure that border, we wouldn’t have a policy of paroling into this country — upwards of 7 million people at this point,” Cammack continued.
“We wouldn’t have a policy of allowing people to come into this country with zero background checks. He would have reimplemented Title 42 instead of getting rid of it. He would’ve kept the “remain in Mexico” policy. He would’ve kept all the Trump-era policies to secure this border.”
“Instead, he did away with every single one of them because he doesn’t want a secure border; he wants an open border. That is why he is the trafficker in chief.”
Cammack was asked to respond to reports for relief from the onslaught of illegal immigrants from Democrats — such as New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healy and New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

“It’s been like pulling teeth to get Democrats down top the border, but this is not a Republican or Democrat issue. It’s an American issue. And without a secure border, we are not a sovereign nation,” said Cammack. “Every community in America is now a border town as a result of these policies.”
“They are asking for a major disaster to happen as a result of the open border policies,” Cammack concluded.
“If you want to actually solve this problem, what you need to do is secure the border. Which means building the border wall. … But more importantly, enforce the laws that are on the books,” she added.
“The Trump-era policies were the right policies.”
