Florida Reports Record COVID-19 Cases But Deaths Remain Flat & Trending Down

TAMPA Fla. – The total number of COVID-19 cases in Florida is now 169,106, up over 10,000 from what was reported yesterday. Florida Health officials are reporting the number of Florida resident deaths has reached 3,617, an increase of 67 since Wednesday’s update, with 101 non-Floridians that have died in the state.

Thursday’s total new cases set the state’s largest single-day increase since the COVID-19 began. The rate of positive new tests has increased during a 30-day period at 16.78% as of Wednesday.

The good news is, as the number of new cases has trended up over the 30-days, the number of deaths has remained mostly flat and is on a downward trend as of today.
