Senator Rick Scott took to the airwaves Sunday, delivering a wide-ranging critique of current U.S. foreign policy, Yale University, and domestic surveillance during an appearance on Fox News Sunday.
The Florida Senator focused heavily on the escalating threat from Iran, calling for a hardline stance to ensure the regime never acquires a nuclear weapon.
“This is a regime that has been killing Americans for 47 years,” Scott said, arguing that funds provided to Iran have been used to bankroll proxy groups like the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Hamas.
While critical of the regime’s history, Scott noted that President Biden possesses the authority to use military force to protect American interests, stating, “This president has that right and he’s doing the right thing.”
The conversation shifted to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), where Scott detailed personal grievances with government overreach. He claimed that he was surveilled following the events of January 6th and alleged that his tax returns were released during the Obama administration.

Scott used his background as a former hospital CEO to argue that if the government can target high-level officials and business leaders, everyday citizens are at risk.
“Nobody at the FBI has ever been held accountable for the over 200 thousand Americans who have been surveilled. Nobody,” Scott remarked, calling for “commonsense changes” to the program to prevent further targeting.
Scott also took aim at Yale University for hosting Hasan Piker, a socialist podcaster.
The Senator accused Piker of promoting violence against capitalists and making antisemitic remarks. “He said that we deserved 9/11,” Scott noted, expressing outrage that a “once-prestigious” institution would provide a platform for such rhetoric.
Scott suggested that universities supporting such speakers should be stripped of federal funding, tying Piker’s presence to broader trends within the Democratic Party.
Finally, the Senator pushed for the passage of the SAVE America Act, a legislative effort focused on tightening election security.
Scott argued that the bill reflects the will of a massive majority of the public. “It’s real simple, you should have to have an ID to vote,” Scott said. “Over 80% of Americans, Republicans, Democrats, independents want this.”
