Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) appeared on Fox Business’ Mornings with Maria Fridazy to criticize Democrats for the ongoing government shutdown, accusing them of blocking Republican efforts to fund the government while continuing to collect their own paychecks.
Senator Scott, citing what he called “complete hypocrisy,” argued that Democrats are leaving military families and essential workers struggling without pay while their own salaries remain unaffected.
To combat this, the Senator highlighted his long-standing push for the No Budget, No Pay Act, legislation that holds members of Congress accountable by requiring them to forgo their pay if they fail to fund the government.
