Florida Silver Alert Issued For Missing Spring Hill Man Last Seen In Taylor County

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Silver Alert and is requesting public assistance to locate a missing and endangered 78-year-old man.

Larry Hackett was last seen at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, leaving his home on Riviera Court in Spring Hill. Authorities state he was heading toward Rogers Park on Shoal Line Boulevard. He was officially reported missing early Wednesday morning at 4:09 a.m. According to officials, Hackett has been diagnosed with dementia.

Hackett is driving a 2015 tan Ford Fusion with the Florida license plate BSY1Y. An automated license plate reader camera last tracked the vehicle at around 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the area of Tennille in Taylor County, traveling in a northward direction.

Investigators describe Hackett as a white male, born on December 7, 1947. He stands 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs roughly 200 pounds, and has gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt paired with white jeans.

Anyone who has seen Hackett or has information regarding his current whereabouts is urged to contact the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 352-754-6830. No further details have been released at this time.
