A 19-year-old Fort Pierce woman faces multiple felony charges after authorities say she paid a food delivery driver with counterfeit cash over the weekend.
Deputies with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Operations Bureau first responded to the theft report on August 22, 2026. According to investigators, a driver delivering an $83.90 order from a local Italian restaurant was handed two fake $50 bills as payment.
Detective Corporal Anzalone took over the case on August 24. Later that day, dispatchers alerted patrol deputies that the suspect was at a Fort Pierce home.
Deputies and Detective Corporal Anzalone went to the residence, found the suspect, and positively identified her as the person who handed the counterfeit money to the driver.
Authorities arrested Adrianna Marie Sheppard, 19, at the scene. She was booked on charges of fraud for uttering a false bank bill, note, check, or draft; possession of a counterfeited bank bill, check, or draft; and larceny.
Following the arrest, the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office reminded local business owners and residents to inspect cash carefully and report any suspicious bills directly to law enforcement.
