A 19-year-old man is being held without bond in the Putnam County Jail after allegedly shooting and killing his parents during a family argument late Friday night.
Uyleses Servin faces two counts of homicide, two counts of firing into a building or vehicle, three counts of aggravated assault, and one count of child neglect following the incident at 121 Musket Drive.
Deputies were dispatched to the residence after emergency call takers received a report at 11:16 p.m. regarding a man threatening family members inside the house. The caller told dispatchers that Servin had pointed a gun at her and other relatives, prompting her to flee the home. A second call reporting gunshots on Musket Drive came in shortly after.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies spotted Servin standing outside holding a small child and a firearm. Servin complied with commands to drop the gun, allowing officers to safely retrieve the child and place him under arrest.
Deputies then found Servin’s parents lying in separate areas outside the home with gunshot wounds. His mother, 47-year-old Cecilia Servin, died at the scene. His father, 51-year-old Miguel Servin, received emergency treatment from paramedics but later died at the hospital.
According to detectives, an argument between Servin, his parents, and other family members escalated before Servin began shooting. Two adult relatives who were inside the house fled while shots were being fired, believing they were also being targeted.
Authorities have not yet established where Servin obtained the weapon. The medical examiner’s office is conducting autopsies on the victims today.
Officials noted that other children were inside the home during the shooting. Law enforcement is withholding all information regarding the identities, ages, and genders of those children, as well as the child found with Servin.
The case remains an active investigation, and authorities indicated that additional charges could be filed as new details emerge.
