A Palm Harbor teen has been arrested after a double stabbing of his mother and another female victim.

Florida Teen Charged With Attempted Murder After Stabbing His Mother And Female Victim

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A Palm Harbor teen has been arrested after a double stabbing of his mother and another female victim.

According to investigators, on Wednesday at approximately 8:52 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 121 Steeplechase Lane in Palm Harbor reference to complaints of a stabbing.

Deputies say once on the scene, they located a female with multiple stab wounds and learned a second female, identified as 41-year-old Cristina Lopez-Mera, was inside the residence and also suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Detectives say both victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Lopez-Mera’s son, 16-year-old Angelo Scalzo. Scalzo fled the scene and later surrendered to deputies.

Scalzo was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder.
