BROOKSVILLE, Fla. — A 39-year-old Brooksville woman died early Thursday morning after losing control of her car on Mondon Hill Road.
The crash happened just after 2:00 a.m. on January 22, 2026. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the woman was driving a Ford Taurus eastbound on Mondon Hill Road.
As she approached the area near Jasmine Drive, troopers say she failed to negotiate a curve in the road.

The sedan drifted off the pavement and began to rotate before slamming into a tree. FHP reports confirm the driver died at the scene from her injuries.
Troopers have not released the name of the driver. The crash remains under investigation.
