WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol troopers are asking the public to think back to late August. They need help finding a driver who hit a woman walking in Wesley Chapel and then sped away into the night.

The crash happened months ago, on August 22, 2025, just before 11 p.m. According to investigators, a 50-year-old woman from Wesley Chapel was walking east in the bicycle lane along County Line Road, just west of Stetson Drive.

That’s when an unknown vehicle traveling in the same direction overtook her. The vehicle slammed into the woman, throwing her onto the grassy shoulder. Instead of stopping to render aid, the driver kept going, leaving the scene before authorities arrived.
