Brooksville Woman, 54, Killed While Walking Along Wiscon Road; Suspect Vehicle Described as Ford Pickup or SUV
HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is searching for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a 54-year-old Brooksville woman in a hit-and-run crash Thursday night.
According to an FHP report, the incident occurred at approximately 9:30 PM on Thursday, September 18, in the 15000 block of Wiscon Road, west of Mullers Road. A pedestrian was walking along the edge of the road when a vehicle, described by authorities as possibly a Ford pickup or SUV, collided with her.
The victim suffered fatal injuries at the scene and was pronounced deceased. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene immediately following the collision.
FHP troopers are now actively investigating and seeking information from the public to identify the suspect vehicle and driver. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information regarding the incident is urged to contact FHP by dialing *FHP (*347) or to call Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
