A 30-year-old Florida woman armed with a butcher knife was arrested Monday after threatening her ex-husband.
Karen Mechelle Moroney, 30, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to investigators, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was called to 20th Street in Marathon, at approximately 2 p.m. on Monday.
Witnesses stated Moroney placed the knife near the 33-year-old male victim’s throat and stated she would kill him if he touched her dogs. according to deputies.

Investigators say that two clever-style knives were found in Moroney’s vehicle.
Moroney was booked into the Monore County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
