A 44-year-old Florida woman was arrested after lighting her house on fire with people inside.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations received information on May 20, 2022, that 44-year-old Summer Dykes intentionally set fire to her residence around April 16, 2022, with a juvenile occupant inside.
Deputies said that it was learned that Dykes poured lighter fluid onto curtains in the home and lit them on fire during the investigation.
According to investigators, two of the occupants, a juvenile and an adult, discovered the fire and attempted to pour water on the curtains to extinguish the fire.
While extinguishing the fire, one of the occupants received burns to the bottom of their feet.
Dykes yelled at the occupants not put the fire out and that she was going to burn the house down with them inside.
Investigators made contact with Dykes at her residence on Pinegrove Avenue in Fountain.
During an interview Dykes told Investigators it was her house, and she could do what she wanted.
Dykes was arrested for Arson, Child Abuse, and two counts of Attempted Murder.
