A 20-year-old Florida woman, Victoria Keebler, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery on an officer following an incident on Friday, where she allegedly struck an officer with a hammer.
According to WEAR News, the incident occurred while members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Crestview Police Department were conducting an investigation in Crestview.
Keebler arrived at the scene and allegedly threw both a cell phone and a large hammer at officers in an unprovoked manner.
Officers were reportedly in uniform and using their parked patrol vehicles for cover when the alleged assault took place. The report states that the hammer struck one officer’s hand and the rifle he was holding, narrowly missing his head and neck area.
Following the event, Keebler was taken into custody and provided no reason for the attack.
