Florida Woman Arrested For DUI After “Huffing” Right Guard Deodorant While Driving

A Florida woman has been charged with DUI after deputies discovered the woman was not only impaired by alcohol but also a bit high on spray cans of deodorant.

Deputies say that 31-year old Katherine Theodore was slow to tell deputies why she had multiple cans of empty Right Guard Deodorant cans in her car, during a traffic stop.

As the deputy made initial contact with Theodore, he could smell the strong scent of spray deodorant inside the car.

When asked, Theodore said she sprayed the deodorant because she really likes the smell.

After further investigation, deputies say Katherine Theodore admitted to drinking alcohol earlier in the day, then huffing the deodorant while she was driving her vehicle.

Theodore was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence and taken to the Martin County Jail.

“The Martin County Sheriff’s Office has made 65 DUI arrests so far this year. Impaired driving is not just limited to alcohol. It includes alcohol, drugs, and now deodorant, or any type of inhalant that can impair your normal faculties while you are behind the wheel,” said Martin County Sheriff’s Office in a statement.
