Florida Woman Arrested In “Operation Death Dealer” With Trafficking Fentanyl, Meth

On July 25, 2022, Detectives of the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office, alongside Detectives of the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and the North Star Multijurisdictional Drug Task Force began Operation “Death Dealer”.

According to WCSO, the operation was designed to specifically address the rise in illegal fentanyl distribution which has led to numerous overdoses in north Florida. Those overdoses often lead to serious medical conditions, and or death.

Law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant in Crawfordville, Florida, as part of Operation Death Dealer and arrested Suzanne Latrell Ward, 46, for Trafficking in Fentanyl and other drug charges.

During the execution of the search warrant, a black box was found in a master bedroom dresser. Inside of the black box was a pink powder that field tested positive for fentanyl.

Also inside the black box were six individually prepackaged baggies containing a brown powder which also tested positive for fentanyl. Detectives also discovered a clear plastic baggie with a crystalline substance inside which field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Also found was a full syringe with a substance that field tested positive for fentanyl. In a kitchen cabinet suspected psilocybin mushrooms were also located.

Upon informing Suzanne she was going to jail, she stated she had more illegal drugs on her. Suzanne then retrieved a clear baggie that contained a white powder which field tested positive for fentanyl.

In total, the search warrant produced a total of 20 grams of fentanyl, 7.1 grams of methamphetamine, and 22.9 grams of psilocybin mushrooms seized.

Operation Death Dealer is a multi-faceted operation with more to come, according to WCSO.

Suzanne Latrell Ward was arrested and booked into the Wakulla County Jail on the following charges:

  • Trafficking in Fentanyl;
  • Possession of psilocybin mushrooms;
  • Possession of synthetic narcotic with the intent to sell;
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia; and
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
