A 32-year-old Florida woman was arrested Wednesday for attempting to smuggle Fentanyl into jail.
Bridget Victoria Kaestner, 32 was charged with trafficking Fentanyl, possession of Fentanyl, and attempting to smuggle contraband into the jail.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office stopped Kaestner in a BMW at approximately 9:13 p.m. on U.S. 1 in Marathon as she had a warrant for attempting to purchase heroin.
Deputies asked Kaestner multiple times if she had any drugs on her as she had made such attempts in the past, according to deputies.

She was taken to Lower Keys Medical Center where 5.1 grams of Fentanyl were found in her genital region after an X-ray at the jail revealed an “anomaly” there.
Kaestner was charged with four felonies and booked into the Monroe County Jail on $50,000 bond.
