A single ticket from a local convenience store turns into a life-changing lump-sum payment.
The Florida Lottery announced that an Ocala woman has claimed a $1 million prize from the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR Scratch-Off game. Jennifer Hatchett, 47, chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.
Hatchett purchased her winning ticket at Medical Food Mart, located at 2534 S.E. 17th Street in Ocala. She claimed her prize on May 8 at the Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.

The $50 game offers players a chance to win one of two top prizes of $1 million a year for life, or one of 234 prizes of $1 million. The game has over $1.6 billion in total cash prizes and the overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.50.
The Florida Lottery is responsible for contributing more than $49 billion to enhance education and sending over one million students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.

The Florida Lottery reinvests 99 percent of its revenue into Florida’s economy through prize payouts, commissions to more than 13,550 Lottery retailers, and transfers to education.
