A bizarre burglary in Auburndale ends with a Lakeland woman in custody after she was found eating beans inside a victim’s home.
POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 39-year-old Lakeland woman, Randi Chanel Reagan, was arrested on Saturday afternoon after she was found by deputies eating beans from a can inside a home she allegedly broke into.
The incident began around 2:21 p.m. when the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary in progress at a residence on 1st Street West in Auburndale. According to the report, a neighbor had alerted the homeowner that someone had just broken a window and climbed into the home.
When deputies arrived, they found Randi Reagan still at the scene. Deputies noted that Reagan appeared to be under the influence, with slurred speech, unsteady movements, and dilated pupils.
Reagan reportedly admitted to unlawfully entering the residence while screaming at deputies, though she otherwise refused to cooperate.
She was taken to the Sheriff’s Processing Center and charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
