A woman accused of trying to kidnap a 5-year-old boy from his grandmother at a gas station was ordered held on a $60,000 bond by a judge on Wednesday.
Ivanna Nobile, 38, was arrested Tuesday morning after the incident at the Shell station at 5 N. Federal Highway. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) arrest report, the boy’s grandmother was parked because her SUV’s engine was smoking.
The report alleges that Nobile approached the grandmother, made an unclear statement involving an identification card, then opened the rear door and grabbed the child’s arm, stating: “I’m taking him. This child is the wrong color to be with this woman.”
The grandmother intervened. Authorities said multiple witnesses and surveillance footage corroborated the incident, and the child had no visible injuries.
Nobile faces charges of false imprisonment of a child and burglary. BSO records indicate she is also being held on an immigration hold.
The BSO report confirmed the boy had no visible injuries.
