A 49-year-old Florida woman was sentenced to eight years in prison Thursday for an armed robbery at a local Naples gas station. Martha Contino received the sentence after pleading no contest to charges of armed robbery with a firearm.
The incident occurred at the Shell Station located at 7392 Radio Road. According to investigators, Contino entered the business wearing a black ski mask and carrying a firearm. She seized a box containing cash and fled the scene on foot.
Coordination between Collier County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies, detectives, and the Real-Time Operations Center allowed authorities to track Contino to a nearby apartment complex.
She was taken into custody the same day as the robbery, July 9, 2024. During the arrest, deputies recovered several items of evidence, including clothing that matched the suspect’s attire, a ski mask, a significant amount of cash, and narcotics.
“Today’s prison sentence holds the defendant accountable for a dangerous armed robbery and shows that when our deputies, detectives and ROC analysts work together criminals are quickly identified and brought to justice,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said following the sentencing.
The judge credited Contino with 605 days for time already served in the Collier County jail while awaiting trial.
This credit reduces her remaining time behind bars to approximately six years and four months. Following her release from prison, Contino will be required to serve seven years of probation.
