Florida’s Cash Cowboy: Byron Donalds Rides $81 Million Wave In Governor’s Race

The financial landscape of the Florida gubernatorial race shifted dramatically this week as Representative Byron Donalds announced a massive fundraising haul, pushing his total campaign war chest past the $81 million mark.

According to a release from his campaign team in Naples, Florida, the combined forces of the Byron Donalds Campaign and the Friends of Byron Donalds PAC brought in $13.8 million during April and May of 2026 alone. This two-month surge came from 8,812 individual donors, split between $2.13 million directly to his gubernatorial campaign account and $11.7 million funneled into his political action committee (PAC).

Since launching his bid for the governor’s mansion, Donalds has accumulated a total of $81.1 million from 35,292 individual contributors.

The breakdown of that overall total shows $9.2 million raised by the official Byron Donalds for Governor campaign, while the Friends of Byron Donalds PAC accounts for the lion’s share at $71.8 million.

“These fundraising numbers emphatically illustrate the surging enthusiasm for Byron Donalds’s campaign,” Communications Director Gates McGavick said in a statement. “From Pompano to Pensacola and everywhere in between, Florida Republicans are sending a clear message: Byron Donalds is the Trump-endorsed conservative who has what it takes to make life more affordable and keep the Florida Dream alive.”

The fundraising announcement arrives alongside recent internal and public polling indicators that place Donalds ahead of his opponents in both the Republican primary lineup and potential general election matchups against Democratic contenders.
