Florida’s Top Law Enforcement Official Says Trump Case Better Be “Rock Solid”

Appearing on Fox News Monday night, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody called the Mar-a-Lago raid "unprecedented" and stated the FBI allegations "better be rock solid."

Appearing on Fox News Monday night, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody called the Mar-a-Lago raid “unprecedented” and stated the FBI’s case “better be rock solid.”

“I learned of it when the rest of the public learned about it. It is an unprecedented move. I think so many of us have watched, as the credibility of our FBI has been chipped away at over the years,” said Moody.

“We’re just waiting for this institution to be rebuilt into that institution of respect and independence and faith and today is a very shocking day. Not just for me, but for many Floridians and Americans,” Moody added.

Early Monday evening Trump confirmed that FBI agents were at Mar-a-Lago in a statement Monday and said, “Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries. Sadly, America has now become one of those countries, corrupt at a level not seen before. They even broke into my safe! What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democrat National Committee? Here, in reverse, Democrats broke into the home of the 45th President of the United States.”

“Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before. After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate,” said Trump.

Following the search warrant executed by the FBI on Monday at Mar-a-Lago, Florida Governor DeSantis spoke out on social media.

“The raid of MAL is another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime’s political opponents, while people like Hunter Biden get treated with kid gloves. Now the Regime is getting another 87k IRS agents to wield against its adversaries? Banana Republic,” DeSantis said on Monday.

Moody added Monday, “Governor DeSantis used to be a federal prosecutor as well, we share that in common and you would expect there to be subpoenas, if there was any suspect of classified information, requesting documents, that has been done. Not 30 FBI agents, rushing in on a search warrant. It is certainly unusual and they need to tell you what the charges or allegations are if any. This better be a rock solid case.”

The search warrant was part of an investigation into the handling of presidential documents., according to sources.

Reports say that the agents appeared to be focused on material that Trump had brought with him to Mar-a-Lago, his private club, and residence when he left the White House.

Those boxes contained many pages of classified documents, according to a person familiar with their contents told Fox News.
