The unprecedented earnings will support critical projects across the state, including roads, schools, and hospitals.
Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia announced Thursday that the Florida Department of Financial Services’ Division of Treasury has generated a record-breaking $2.5 billion in interest earnings during Fiscal Year 2024-2025.
The figure surpasses initial state estimates and marks a significant achievement in the prudent management of state funds.
As part of the Department of Financial Services, the Division of Treasury is tasked with managing the state’s funds and assets. The record-setting performance is the result of a disciplined investment strategy that prioritizes making Floridians’ money “work harder, stretch further, and deliver more for the people,” said CFO Ingoglia.

“As your Chief Financial Officer, I’m proud to announce that our state treasury has generated record-setting earnings on the money entrusted to us,” Ingoglia said. “This didn’t happen by chance. Our treasury team is laser-focused on making Floridians’ dollars work harder, stretch further, and deliver more for the people. When government operates with the discipline and the principles of the private sector and free markets, it creates value instead of eroding it. Every dollar we earn is a dollar taxpayers don’t have to pay.”
The additional funds, which exceeded the state’s initial projections, will be allocated to support Florida’s future by funding essential projects. These include the development of new roads, schools, hospitals, and other critical infrastructure designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and continue to make Florida an attractive place to live, work, and retire.

Under CFO Ingoglia’s leadership, the Division of Treasury employs a balanced investment approach, utilizing a mix of short-, intermediate-, and long-term fixed-income investments.
This strategy ensures the state maintains strong liquidity, preserves capital, and delivers excess returns. The Department of Financial Services emphasizes that this disciplined approach is proof that a responsible, well-managed government can provide measurable and lasting value for every Floridian.
