Today, business owner and Former Congressional Candidate Matt Becker announced his endorsement for Kevin Hayslett in Florida’s 13th Congressional District.
Becker, who ran for Congress in FL-13 in 2020, had originally endorsed Anna Paulina Luna in this year’s race but switched his endorsement to Hayslett after he announced his candidacy in January.
Becker served in the U.S. Small Business Administration and in the U.S. Department of Education, as well as the Central Pinellas County Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves on the Board of YMCA Suncoast, a position he has held since 2017.
“When Kevin entered this race I had already endorsed another candidate. But I served with Kevin on the YMCA Board and I know who he is and what his character is like. He’s the kind of person we need in Congress, and the kind of representation Pinellas County deserves,” Becker stated. “I’m proud to officially endorse Kevin Hayslett for Congress, he’s lived his life in Pinellas County, and we need his strong conservative leadership in Congress.”
Hayslett, who announced his candidacy for FL-13 in mid-January has quickly gained the support of local leaders, and continues to earn support from leaders who had previously endorsed candidates before switching to Team Hayslett after his announcement.
“I’m thankful to have the support of so many great local leaders,” Hayslett said. “Inflation is rising, gas prices are rising, and Joe Biden and the Democrats refuse to take accountability. As a member of Congress, I will do all I can to hold Biden and the Democrats accountable, and bring the citizens of Pinellas County the representation they deserve.”
