Former Georgia Rep. MTG Details Cold Text Exchange With Trump Over Family Death Threats

Former Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) revealed Wednesday that her long-standing alliance with Donald Trump ended after a “very unkind” response from the President regarding death threats directed at her children.

Speaking on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Greene described a breaking point in their relationship that stemmed from her concerns over escalating violent rhetoric.

The former congresswoman stated that she reached out to Trump, along with FBI Director Kash Patel, Vice President JD Vance, and senior advisors Susie Wiles and James Blair, after receiving threats that mirrored language Trump had used against her.

“The death threats escalated on one of my children,” Greene told Morgan. She noted that the threats specifically utilized the word “traitor,” a label Trump had recently applied to her. “I reached out to the president to let him know this is what’s happening because [of] what you’re saying about me, and he was very unkind about these death threats. And so that was our last exchange, was on text message.”

According to Greene, the President did not offer sympathy. Instead, she alleged that he shifted the blame onto her. “He basically blamed me. He had no compassion for death threats on my children. He blamed me, basically, that if my son were to get killed, it would be my fault,” she said.

Greene responded to the President by asserting that political disagreements should never justify violence against family members. She expressed shock at the lack of empathy, suggesting that even her fiercest ideological rivals in the Democratic party would not have reacted with such indifference.

“It’s like a nail in the coffin. It tells me exactly who Donald Trump is,” Greene said. “I don’t know what kind of person basically has no compassion or care to someone’s child being threatened to be killed. It’s just—it’s unimaginable, really.”

The fallout follows several months of mounting tension between the two figures. The rift began to widen over significant policy clashes, including Greene’s public opposition to the June 2025 military strikes on Iran and her aggressive demands for the full disclosure of government records related to Jeffrey Epstein.

The relationship further soured following Greene’s public criticism of Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa’s White House visit during the Marine Corps’ 250th anniversary.

In posts on X, Greene urged the administration to prioritize domestic issues over engagements with foreign leaders, a stance that preceded Trump’s formal withdrawal of support for her.
