Former Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene took to X Sunday to voice criticism against the Trump administration following military action in Iran, claiming the executive branch has effectively stripped Congress of its constitutional authority.
In a series of pointed posts, Greene described the legislative body as “powerless” and “neutered,” asserting that lawmakers have been reduced to following the White House’s lead without question.
The former congresswoman alleged that the White House bypassed standard protocols by failing to provide Congress with a formal justification for the strikes.
According to Greene, the administration “barely” shared information with five out of the “Gang of Eight“—the group of senior congressional leaders typically briefed on classified intelligence and sensitive military operations.

This lack of transparency, she argued, is a primary reason why many lawmakers are choosing to leave public office.
Greene also addressed the War Powers Resolution, suggesting that even if a vote were held to restrict military action, the administration would likely ignore it to pursue its own agenda. She claimed that dissenting voices within the party are frequently labeled as “traitors” or “panicans” for disagreeing with executive decisions.
Warning of potential political fallout, Greene noted that aggressive tactics and name-calling could eventually alienate the coalition of voters needed for future Republican victories.
She concluded her critique by stating that the current dynamic is unsustainable, as people are simply losing interest in a system where they feel their representatives have no say.
