Fort Meade Man Starts New Year By Kicking Polk County Deputies, Punching Woman

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Fort Meade man’s holiday celebrations took a violent turn, landing him in jail after assaulting a woman and kicking two deputies.

43-year-old Bartolome Figueroa Acevedo was arrested on December 30th following a disturbance at a Fort Meade residence. Witnesses reported that Acevedo, who appeared intoxicated, was behaving rudely and aggressively towards others.

According to reports, Acevedo demanded a woman move her car simply because he “didn’t like her.” He then escalated the situation by grabbing another woman by the hair and punching her in the face.

When Polk County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene, Acevedo’s aggression continued. He ordered deputies to leave his property and then proceeded to kick one deputy in the leg and another in the chest.

Acevedo was arrested and charged with battery, resisting arrest with violence, and two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer. He was booked into the Polk County Jail.
