FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) today arrested Cacildo Fernando Camargo, 67, of Fort Myers, on ten felony counts for possession of child sexual abuse material.
The investigation began when FDLE Fort Myers agents identified hundreds of electronic files containing the sexual abuse of children being downloaded via the internet. Through investigative and legal processes, Camargo was identified as the user downloading the illegal files.
Agents obtained a search warrant for Camargo’s residence and seized multiple electronic devices for forensic analysis. A preliminary on-site preview was conducted, and agents viewed ten files containing the sexual abuse of children.
Camargo was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail on no bail pending first appearance. The case will be prosecuted by Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.
