CITRUS COUNTY, Fla.- Deputies apprehended four suspects in connection with two attempted “purse snatch” robberies – one occurring yesterday at the Bealls in Inverness and the other, earlier today at the Walmart in Inverness.

Deputies were able to arrive on the scene at the Walmart location quickly and locate the suspects leaving in a grey Kia Optima, traveling eastbound on S.R. 44.

Once a traffic stop was initiated, the vehicle fled immediately and was pursued through Inverness, where it struck a CCSO patrol vehicle and a citizen’s vehicle while attempting to turn around in a parking lot.

The pursuit continued northbound on North Independence Hwy, where the violators’ vehicle crashed into a tree at North Independence Hwy and East Beck Street.

All four female occupants fled the wrecked car and were apprehended within seconds at the scene.

Major Crimes detectives responded for further investigation and should be able to clear the robbery from today and yesterday with these arrests!!
