Inverness Teens Arrested Following Armed Robbery at Citgo Gas Station

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – Four Inverness teenagers were taken into custody on Sunday afternoon following an armed robbery at a local gas station. The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred at approximately 2:00 p.m. at the Citgo located at 79 N. Florida Avenue.

According to investigators, 19-year-old Joshua Robertson and 16-year-old Jamison Tanner entered the establishment armed with a firearm. The suspects allegedly confronted a store clerk and a witness behind the counter before stealing approximately $1,500 in vape products. Surveillance footage shows the robbery lasted roughly two minutes.

Authorities identified two other accomplices involved in the heist. Aiden Combs, 16, reportedly acted as a lookout outside the building, while Alexander Vazquez, 17, served as the driver for the getaway vehicle.

Following the robbery, deputies canvassed the area and utilized K9 teams to track the suspects. K9 Cairo and Deputy Danner located fresh tire impressions that indicated the suspects’ direction of travel. After the Sheriff’s Office shared surveillance images on social media, several community members contacted dispatch with information regarding the identities of the individuals involved.

All four suspects were located and arrested within five hours of the initial report. Each teenager now faces felony charges, including Robbery with a Firearm and Grand Theft.

“This case shows what can be accomplished when dedicated deputies and engaged community watchdogs work together,” said Sheriff David Vincent. “Our team moved quickly, and our residents stepped up without hesitation. Because of that partnership, these suspects were identified and apprehended in a matter of hours.”

The investigation is ongoing, and officials stated that additional charges may be filed as the case progresses.
