LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. — Pasco County Animal Services (PCAS) will waive adoption fees for all available dogs and cats from Wednesday, Aug. 26, through Sunday, Aug. 30, as part of NBCUniversal Local’s annual Clear the Shelters campaign.
The adoption fee waiver covers all standard medical services for each animal, including spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping. While the adoption fees are eliminated during the event, Pasco County residents are still required to purchase a county license for each adopted pet.
Adoptions will take place at the Pasco County Animal Services Adoption Center in Building A, located at 19640 Dogpatch Lane in Land O’ Lakes. The center will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, and from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
“We’re happy to be partnering with NBCUniversal again for Clear the Shelters,” PCAS Director Gary Herrero said. “Swing by, meet our amazing pets and find the perfect fit for your family.”
The nationwide Clear the Shelters effort has helped place more than 1.3 million animals into homes since its inception. The 2026 campaign is also partnering with Greater Good Charities to accept online donations supporting PCAS and other participating rescue groups and shelters through ClearTheSheltersFund.org.
