Free Shots And Microchips: Pasco County Launches Summer Clinics To Protect Your Pets

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County Animal Services is rolling out a series of free community clinics this summer, offering essential vaccines and microchips to local pet owners at no cost. The events will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with a hard limit of 100 pets per clinic.

Residents can bring up to three cats or dogs to the events, which are scheduled across three different locations between June and August.

The initiative aims to eliminate financial hurdles for families looking to secure preventative care for their animals. “Our goal is simple: healthy pets, supported families and a safer community,” said PCAS Director Gary Herrero. “By removing financial barriers and bringing services directly into neighborhoods, we’re making preventive care accessible to everyone.”

The clinics are scheduled for the following dates and locations:

  • June 9: Robert J. Stricklan Memorial Park, 6345 Clark Street, Hudson
  • July 14: Anclote Gulf Park, 2305 Baillies Bluff Road, Holiday
  • August 4: Elsie Logan Memorial Park, 15830 Greenglen Lane, Shady Hills

According to organizers, the clinics will provide core vaccines that protect pets against highly contagious and potentially fatal viruses common to Florida, including rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and adenovirus.

In addition to vaccinations, staff will offer microchipping. Animal services notes that the microchip acts as a permanent, scannable proof of ownership, which helps reunite lost pets with their families more quickly and provides clear legal protection for owners.
