PLANT CITY, Fla. — A 19-year-old man lost his life late Friday night in a chaotic three-vehicle collision along State Road 39, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly after 9 p.m., south of Moriczville Lane, involving three local drivers from Plant City. Troopers say a 77-year-old woman driving a Chevy Silverado northbound attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway, crossing directly into the path of oncoming traffic.
As the Silverado cut across the lane, it was struck by a southbound Nissan Versa driven by the 19-year-old. The force of the collision sent the woman’s truck spinning onto the west shoulder, but the crash wasn’t over.

Troopers say after the initial impact, the teenager’s Nissan rotated out of control and was thrown into the path of a northbound Ford F350. The Ford, driven by a 32-year-old man who had been traveling behind the Silverado, slammed into the Nissan.
Emergency responders pronounced the 19-year-old driver dead at the scene.
The 77-year-old woman survived with minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Ford F350 was uninjured.
