A quiet night of board games in Wisconsin turned into a gruesome scene early last Sunday morning, leaving a local woman fighting for her life and her partner behind bars. Kevin Fischer, a resident of the Milwaukee suburb, now faces a charge of first-degree attempted intentional homicide after authorities say he brutally stabbed his fiancée and then paused to take a shower before calling 911.

The trouble reportedly began on Saturday afternoon when Fischer started drinking while his partner remained sober. According to court documents, the evening appeared routine at first; the couple picked up dinner and spent time playing games with Fischer’s sister.

However, once the sister left and the fiancée mentioned she was ready for bed, the atmosphere shifted violently. The victim told investigators the attack seemed to come “out of nowhere,” claiming Fischer suddenly threatened her life and began wielding a knife.

It wasn’t until 3:20 a.m. that Fischer placed a call to emergency dispatchers. During the recorded conversation, he was blunt about the violence, allegedly telling the operator, “I tried killing her, she’s bleeding really bad because I stabbed her.”

While waiting for help to arrive, Fischer reportedly expressed a confusing mix of remorse and resentment, stating he loved and hated her at the same time. He also admitted to a series of bizarre actions following the stabbing, including covering his bleeding partner with blankets and taking a shower while she lay wounded on the bed.

When West Bend police arrived at the apartment, they found a scene that was as tragic as it was grisly. Fischer, who officers described as smelling strongly of alcohol and crying uncontrollably, let them into the home. In the back bedroom, they discovered the victim with a pile of blood-soaked blankets over her midsection.

The extent of her injuries was severe; medical reports detailed deep lacerations to her hip and leg, as well as a massive abdominal wound that caused a life-threatening intestinal injury.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery, where doctors were forced to remove a portion of her intestines. While she was able to speak with officers on the way to the trauma center, her current medical condition has not been publicly updated.

Meanwhile, Fischer made his first appearance in court this Monday. He is currently being held as he awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for early April. If a jury finds him guilty of the attempted homicide charge, he could face up to 60 years in a state prison.
