POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A call about a suspicious vehicle in Poinciana on Saturday evening led to the arrest of a 47-year-old man who was wanted on an active felony warrant from a neighboring county.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), deputies were dispatched to a Poinciana residence around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 18th, after receiving a report of a man sitting in a suspicious vehicle parked in a driveway.

Upon making contact with the vehicle’s occupant, deputies were initially given a false name by the individual. After further investigation, the man was correctly identified as Israel Ruiz-Ruiz, 47.

A background check utilizing Ruiz-Ruiz’s correct identity quickly revealed that he was wanted by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office on an active warrant for dealing in stolen property.

Ruiz-Ruiz was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center. He now faces his original felony charge for dealing in stolen property, along with additional charges stemming from the interaction with the deputies: resisting a law enforcement officer and providing a false name to a law enforcement officer.
