From The Bay To The Break: Tampa Local Runs The Table For $15k Vegas Jackpot

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – A Tampa woman turned a trip to Las Vegas into a massive payday, but she didn’t need a slot machine or a deck of cards to do it. Victoria Parker returned home $15,000 richer after securing the title at the 2026 APA 8-Ball Classic Pool Championship.

Parker’s journey to the top was no small feat. She began as one of nearly 6,000 players across North America attempting to qualify for the prestigious American Poolplayers Association (APA) event. Out of that massive field, she emerged as one of the elite 770 players to earn a spot at the national finals held at the Westgate Las Vegas.

Competing in the Yellow Tier—one of five divisions categorized by skill level—Parker outlasted the competition to claim a cash and prize package totaling $15,000. Along with the money, she earned “ultimate bragging rights” to bring back to her home poolroom in Tampa, where she is a regular league member.

The tournament, which ran from April 26-28, was a cornerstone of the broader APA Poolplayer Championships. That event saw more than 6,000 players descend on Vegas to compete for a piece of a prize pool exceeding $1 million. For those who missed the action, Parker’s final match was live-streamed and remains available for fans to watch online.

Based in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, the APA is the world’s largest amateur pool league, boasting over 275,000 members across the United States and Canada. Often cited as the governing body of amateur billiards, the association manages three major annual tournaments that combined pay out nearly $2 million.
