Frostproof Man Flips Corolla In Fatal Pre-Dawn Crash On US-27 In Polk County

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 36-year-old man from Frostproof died early Sunday morning after losing control of his car and flipping it on US-27, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers reported that the incident occurred at approximately 4:15 AM. The man was driving a Toyota Corolla southbound on US-27, just north of the US-98 interchange, when he lost control of the vehicle.

The car initially veered off the roadway and onto the shoulder. Investigators stated that the driver then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to sweep back across the road and overturn.

The force of the rollover ejected the driver from the Corolla. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
