A Frostproof man found himself in handcuffs Sunday afternoon after a remote property owner caught him on camera allegedly helping himself to some drinks.
The incident began around 12:30 p.m. on May 3, when a homeowner received an automated notification from his security system. Despite being out of the county at the time, the owner was able to see an intruder on his property near Frostproof and immediately contacted the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they began a search of the premises and eventually located 48-year-old Michelangelo Alfieri hiding behind a camper. According to investigators, Alfieri was found in possession of three cans of vodka seltzer that had been taken from the residence.

Alfieri was arrested on the spot and transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center for booking.
Records show he is facing a second-degree felony charge for burglary, along with misdemeanor charges for trespassing and petit theft. He remains in custody following the Sunday afternoon encounter.
