HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – An international investigation led by the U.S. Marshals Service in coordination with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) culminated in the arrest of a Canadian citizen fugitive in Bayonne, France, on October 2, 2025.
Daniel St. Pierre, 59, who was wanted in Florida for allegedly committing multiple offenses related to the sexual molestation of a minor, was apprehended without incident by French authorities.
Flight and Felony Warrant
St. Pierre, a Canadian citizen, was initially facing charges in Hernando County. His legal situation escalated significantly in July 2025 when it was determined he had violated the terms of his pre-trial release.
According to officials, St. Pierre removed a court-ordered monitoring device without authorization and subsequently fled the United States, returning to Canada.
This action prompted Florida’s Fifth Judicial Circuit to issue a felony arrest warrant for St. Pierre. Further investigation by the HCSO confirmed his flight from the country.

International Manhunt and Arrest
The HCSO formally requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service. This request launched an international manhunt that spanned the United States, Canada, Portugal, and ultimately, France.
The Marshals Service—specifically the Middle District of Florida office—worked closely with its Office of International Operations, the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), and French authorities to track down St. Pierre.
Their coordinated efforts proved successful on Thursday, October 2, resulting in the peaceful arrest of the fugitive in Bayonne, France.
St. Pierre is currently pending extradition back to the United States. If convicted of the charges in Florida, he faces a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years in the state’s penal system.
