Couple Apprehended in Florida for North Carolina Attempted Murder Charges

A coordinated effort by law enforcement yesterday led to the successful apprehension of a couple wanted on felony charges of attempted first-degree murder originating from North Carolina. Jameon Boulware, 36, and Nicole Decosta, 40, were taken into custody after fleeing to Indian River County, Florida, in an attempt to evade justice.

Criminal Investigations Detectives, supported by SWAT and the US Marshal Fugitive Task Force, tracked the fugitives to Indian River County.

Decosta was apprehended first, as she exited a friend’s residence. Approximately eight hours later, Boulware was captured following a high-risk traffic stop conducted by detectives. The suspected firearm used in the alleged crime was located later that evening.

Indian River County Sheriff Eric Flowers commended his team’s efforts, stating, “Our team did an outstanding job tracking these attempted murder suspects. We will continue to work with detectives in North Carolina to assist in processing evidence and our jail staff will work on getting them returned to face justice.”

Flowers also issued a warning to other fugitives: “To the fugitives out there who think Indian River County is a place you can hide, let this case be a lesson that we will find you.”

Both Boulware and Decosta are currently being held in Indian River County, awaiting extradition back to North Carolina to face the attempted first-degree murder charges. Law enforcement agencies from both states are collaborating on the ongoing investigation and evidence processing.
