Georgia Rep. MTG Quits, Crockett Pounces: Texas Dem Rips MAGA ‘Civil War’ And Preps Senate Run

In a blistering Sunday interview, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) wasted no time dismantling Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s shock announcement that she intends to resign from Congress, dismissing the Georgia Republican’s exit as a failure to handle political pressure.

Greene stunned Capitol Hill last week by announcing she will step down effective January 5, 2026. In her statement, the firebrand congresswoman claimed she was being branded a “traitor” and threatened by the President for demanding the release of the Jeffrey Epstein client list.

Speaking with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Crockett offered a scathing assessment of her colleague’s departure.

“Honestly, I was like, you’ve got to be kidding me,” Crockett said. “You’re on the other side of the President for one week, and you can’t take the heat? Imagine what it is to sit in my shoes… to have people like her who are constantly fanning the flames of hate.”

Crockett suggested the resignation exposes a deepening fracture within the GOP, arguing that Greene—long an “instigator” of partisan conflict—is now crumbling under the same tactics she once deployed against others. “Now that they’re doing it to her… why is it that everyone else is able to stand and you can’t?” Crockett asked.

Epstein Probe Expansion

The interview also shed light on the House Oversight Committee’s intensifying investigation into the Epstein files. While details remain “under wraps” to avoid external interference, Crockett hinted at significant hurdles, alleging that previous attempts to subpoena Ghislaine Maxwell were thwarted when “the President’s henchmen showed up to her cell.”

Pushing back on claims that Democrats are weaponizing the investigation, Crockett insisted the goal is transparency, regardless of who is implicated.

“I don’t really care who is in the files,” she told Tapper. “Right is right. Wrong is wrong… We need to know whether or not [these trafficking networks] still exist in some other iteration.”

Texas Senate 2026?

Beyond the beltway drama, Crockett revealed she is dangerously close to launching a 2026 Senate bid to unseat Texas Republican John Cornyn. Citing fresh internal data, she claimed to be polling “within the margin of error” against the veteran senator and performing even stronger against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

“The only reason that I’m continuing to consider whether or not I do this is because my polling says I can win,” Crockett said. She noted that a final decision on the run will be made by Thanksgiving, pending a review of campaign infrastructure needs.

Mistaken Identity

The interviewee wrapped up with the bizarre dust-up involving EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin. Crockett previously accused Zeldin of accepting donations from Jeffrey Epstein, only to learn the donor was a Long Island neurosurgeon with the same name.

After reports of the flop surfaced that the doctor might donate to Crockett’s campaign out of spite, the Congresswoman welcomed the cash.

“I will take your donation,” she laughed. “Especially since Jeffrey Epstein is now deceased… I don’t think it will be confusing.”
