A courtroom in Georgia erupted in outrage on Wednesday as Taco Nash, 22, found guilty of the violent 2022 murder of Mic’keya Montgomery, the mother of his child, spat at the prosecution team while being escorted out after receiving multiple life sentences.

Nash was convicted on all 13 counts related to the brutal killing of 21-year-old Montgomery. The judge handed down three life sentences without the possibility of parole, along with an additional 60 years in prison. A permanent protective order against Nash was also granted to Montgomery’s family.

The horrifying details of the crime, as reported by WSB-TV, emerged during the trial. In 2022, Nash followed Montgomery to their child’s daycare facility, where he threatened her with a gun before forcing her and their baby into nearby woods. There, he fatally shot Montgomery as she held their 18-month-old daughter.

The courtroom incident, described by Montgomery’s family as a display of Nash’s “true colors,” further solidified their view of him as a “menace to society.” Jasmine Walters, the victim’s aunt, stated, “Today was the day that they got to see the real him. The rest was a facade… he’s a sociopath.”

During the trial, Nash attempted to claim that Montgomery had taken the gun and killed herself, a claim vehemently denied by her sister. “And we knew the truth, that she wouldn’t do such a thing, especially in not in front of her 18-month-old daughter,” she said.

A daycare worker who witnessed parts of the incident testified that she tried to intervene when Nash arrived at the facility. She recounted Montgomery begging for her life as Nash’s threats continued.

Surveillance footage showed the three individuals outside the daycare, with the worker attempting to keep Nash, who was reportedly wearing an ankle monitor at the time, out of the building.
