HOLIDAY, Fla. — It is not every day residents see a 25-foot cabin cruiser parked on the grass, but that is exactly what Pasco County deputies are investigating after an illegal dumping incident just days before Christmas.

According to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, an unknown suspect abandoned the large vessel on county property near the intersection of Gulf Trace Boulevard and Inlet Breeze Way on December 20.

Investigators have identified the boat as a 1988 Sea Ray Sorrento. Notably, the vessel bears registration numbers from Connecticut, adding a layer of mystery to how it ended up ditched on a Florida roadside.

Abandoning a derelict vessel is a crime in Florida, often leaving taxpayers with the bill for removal. Authorities are now turning to the public to help track down the person responsible for leaving the boat high and dry.

How to Help If you recognize this boat or know who dumped it, deputies want to hear from you.
