A 32-year-old Florida mother is behind bars this week after her young son walked into school and told staff he was being physically abused at home. Lucianny Lizbeth Luna was arrested Thursday, April 16, and charged with felony child abuse following a series of alleged violent outbursts that left her 12-year-old son with visible injuries.
The investigation began at Matter International Preparatory Academy when the victim approached school staff to report the abuse. According to the arrest affidavit, a Miami Police officer stationed at the school observed a contusion and lacerations on the boy’s face near his left eye.
The child told investigators that the violence began the previous day while his mother was driving him to Gwen Cherry Park for practice.
The 12-year-old boy claimed that while Luna was on the phone with a man, he interrupted her to clarify his schedule. Luna allegedly responded by slapping him in the face, grabbing his hair, and striking him on the back of the head 18 to 19 times with a small glass bottle.

The victim further alleged that as they neared their home, Luna attempted to slash him with her keys, resulting in a puncture wound to his right palm.
According to court documents, the situation escalated further once they were inside their residence. After the boy told his stepfather about the earlier incident, Luna allegedly struck the child again on the left side of his face and slammed him against a wall. The boy told police he tried to run away, but his mother grabbed his towel to hold him back until the stepfather intervened.
The boy eventually locked himself in his room, where he says Luna stood outside the door shouting, “I want to kill you. You’re not my son. Come out the door, and I’ll kill you with anything I have.” While hiding, the boy used his phone to start an Instagram video call with his aunt to show her his injuries and beg for help.

When questioned by Miami Police SVU detectives, Luna admitted to hitting the boy “several times on the back” with an open hand but claimed she could not remember any other strikes. She denied hitting him in the face or using a bottle.
Police noted several physical findings consistent with the boy’s story, including the facial bruising, a cut on his palm, and a bruise on his middle back. Luna was transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and is currently facing one count of child abuse without great bodily harm.
The Department of Children and Families was also notified and present during the initial school interview.
