Florida now has recorded over 200,000 total positive cases of COVID-19 with a surge of 11,458 new COVID-19 cases in a day on Saturday.

“So we’re going to continue to put a lot of emphasis on protecting the most vulnerable to this virus. Social distancing. We stress this and have been. I know things changed a little bit at the end of May, and going into June. You saw a lot more of large gatherings, you saw different things, and I don’t know if maybe people thought the social distance saying, you know, it’s kind of yesterday’s news,” said DeSantis.

DeSantis also said. “We’ve also said now since May, that if you can’t social distance, wearing a facial covering can cut down on the transmission. We believe it’s not in lieu of social distancing. If you can social distance you still want to do that because that’s the best way to prevent infections, whether you infecting somebody else or somebody else infecting you.”

DeSantis added that Hydroxychloroquine will be made available for Doctors to make decisions with their patients, after the Henry Ford Health study that was released last week.
