GULFPORT, Fla. – Detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit (CAC) have arrested a Gulfport resident following an investigation into illegal online activity involving minors.
Jacob Alexander Van Ardoy, 31, was taken into custody on Wednesday, December 10, at his residence.
Investigators launched the probe after receiving intelligence that child sexual abuse materials were being shared and accessed over the internet. Using digital investigative techniques, authorities identified Van Ardoy as the primary suspect.
According to the arrest report, the images recovered involved victims ranging in age from one to thirteen years old.

Van Ardoy has been charged with eight counts of Possession of Child Pornography. He was transported to the Pinellas County Jail for booking.
Law enforcement officials noted that a booking photo of Van Ardoy was not available at the time of the release. The investigation remains active.
