WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – A Haines City man was arrested following an early morning disturbance on Friday, March 6, at AJ Slammers Lounge in Winter Haven. Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a fight at the venue around 2:14 a.m., but found the scene quiet upon arrival—except for one man walking away with a bloody nose.

Deputies identified the individual as 35-year-old Robert Stanley Jean III. According to incident reports, Jean appeared heavily intoxicated and was uncooperative when authorities attempted to check on his well-being or gather information regarding the alleged fight.

Concerned about the man’s safety, deputies urged Jean to call a designated driver to ensure he made it home unharmed. Instead, Jean reportedly insisted on driving himself and attempted to enter his own vehicle, a move deputies physically blocked.

The situation escalated as Jean allegedly began lobbing threats at the officers.

Using slang and derogatory language, he repeatedly told deputies he would “slide” them, at one point stating, “I’ll slide his sweet *** too,” and “I’ll slide all y’all ***!”

Despite being ordered to leave the premises, Jean refused to vacate the area.

The standoff eventually ended when Jean was taken into custody. While he did leave with a designated driver, his destination was not home, but the Sheriff’s Processing Center.

Jean now faces a string of charges, including threatening a public servant, resisting an officer without violence, trespassing for failing to leave upon order, and disorderly intoxication.
