LAKELAND, Fla. – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred in North Lakeland over the weekend, resulting in the theft of two firearms and multiple wallets.

Authorities are seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect captured on surveillance footage.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, during the late evening hours of Saturday, July 26th, and the early morning hours of Sunday, July 27th, a suspect was seen riding a bicycle through various neighborhoods off North Campbell Drive, attempting to open car doors. Several vehicles were successfully burglarized.

Among the items stolen were a black Glock 43X handgun and a black Smith & Wesson M&P Shield handgun. Additionally, two wallets containing identification and credit cards were taken. Authorities confirmed that two victims have already received fraud alerts due to attempts to use their stolen credit cards online.

The affected areas include Grand Pines Boulevard, Indian Woods Trail, Peak Avenue, and Tocoi Path. The suspect is described as wearing a blue hoodie and shorts and was riding a small bicycle.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has assigned case numbers 25-29422, 29423, 29424, and 29434 to these incidents.
