NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – An intersection in New Port Richey became the center of a death investigation Tuesday after human remains were discovered near the corner of Oreto Drive and Ridge Road.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office confirmed the find in a brief statement released to the public, noting that deputies are currently on the scene to process evidence. As of now, the identity of the deceased remains a mystery.
Authorities have not provided any details regarding the age, gender, or state of the remains, citing the early stages of the probe.
Despite the heavy police presence in the area, officials were quick to address local concerns regarding safety. “There does not appear to be a public safety threat,” the Sheriff’s Office stated.

Investigators have not yet determined the cause of death or how long the remains had been at the location.
Local residents are encouraged to avoid the immediate vicinity of Oreto Drive and Ridge Road while the investigation continues. The Sheriff’s Office is expected to provide updates as soon as the medical examiner’s findings or identification become available.
